Bureau For Economic Research (BER) Economist Internship Programme 2023
The Bureau For Economic Research (BER) at Stellebosch University and South African Reserve Bank (SARB) wish to announce the commencement of the recruitment for the 2023 Economist Internship Programme at the BER.
The primary objective of the internship programme is to provide practical training to appropriately qualified graduates so that they are able to function as economists in the private and/or public sectors. The successful candidate will work alongside a BER economist for one year to gain experience in all aspects of business-oriented macroeconomics analysis.
The successful candidates will be employed by the South African Reserve Bank but will spend the first year of employment at BER (the recruits will receive a competitive salary even during the Internship)
Requirements:
- Bea South African citizen
- Hold an Honours or Master’s degree in Economics (by January 2023) with macro-economics as a subject at the post-graduate level
- Be fluent in English
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills
NB. Recruitment will take place in June 2022 and interviews will be held during July and August The internship will start in January 2023 and end in December 2023.
